The photo to the right is of Australia's first World Hovercraft Champion. Robert Waugh from Woolongong in NSW, one of the OZ Team 2000 members that went to England to race at Weston Park in August is now the new Formula "S" World Champ. Formula "S" is the class of racing which is open to all integrated type craft, with a maximum duct size of 900mm and unlimited horsepower. I have very little details of how the Team in general went, but their leader Owen Ellis seems to have come unstuck somewhere. When he was racing he hit a tree, (Weston Park is notorious for trees!!) and suffered a broken arm and maybe broken fingers. The following week in the World Cup event Clint Buckwell from Victoria and Brian Rowland from NSW won the endurance event which is another great achievement for this team. Rocket TWO SEATER RACING HOVERCRAFT: This lightweight two - seater
hovercraft is especially suited to the racing enthusiast. It surpasses all
competitors with its revolutionary The front of the craft contains twin air - chambers (one fiberglass / one nylon), providing a dual path, forward lift air priority supply, further improving its ability to resist ploughing. This craft features a unique skirt deflection system to improve high-speed stability. If seeing is believing, then this is THE CRAFT OF CHAMPIONS !
