Turbo Hovercraft was formed in late 1983 with the aim to develop a small hovercraft under one tonne gross weight. The first design, the 225 Wedge originated as a detailed set of plans which enthusiasts could build inexpensively. Over the years Turbo Hovercraft proceeded to dominate the field of Australian Hovercraft design and in 1993 began manufacturing hovercraft on a large scale and obtained the necessary Marine Board Approval to allow the craft to be used commercially. Twenty years of development and design modification led to Turbo Hovercrafts being the ultimate small hovercraft in the world. Turbo Hovercrafts are currently being utilised as leisure craft - giving the owner a new dimension of freedom and exhilaration over a multitude of terrain types; commercial craft - providing great popularity with their unique floating/skimming sensation; search & rescue/survey - with their increased reliability and versatility providing access to surfaces and areas previously inaccessible; rural use - proving to be a necessity rather than a luxury to farmers during long winter months (or wet season) when land becomes inaccessible and as the latest in crop spraying equipment Turbo Hovercrafts outdo any other machinery available delivering pesticides without crop or land damage.
